Oprah's network 'does well on first night'

Oprah Winfrey's OWN network has launched successfully, it has been reported.

According to Variety, the new network attracted one million viewers during primetime on its first day of operation. Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes was the top show for the weekend, drawing 1.3 million viewers.

"There are so many things happening here at OWN, and we're just getting started," Winfrey said in a statement. "Every day, here's what I’m hoping: that you will find something here to inspire you."

The network has thus far earned rave reviews, according to Hollywood News.

Regular programming started on Monday, including new shows Master Class and In the Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman.
