Report: Final 'Alias' season to end early
Published Tuesday, Feb 28 2006, 15:12 GMT | By Neil Wilkes

The spy drama had been expected to run to 22 episodes this season but will now close after just 17. The news means that the series, which is currently on hiatus in the States, has eight original episodes left to air.
"Too bad on one hand," Abrams told The Futon Critic, "but on the other, we have an awesome finale in the works."
ABC dropped the axe on Alias last November after ratings dropped to a low of seven million viewers. The network promised that the finale would be treated as "the event it deserves to be".
