The actor told Zap2it that his character Tom will begin to achieve his dreams in future episodes.
"He has always been dreaming about this life [where he is] owning this nightclub and all that stuff, and there's a lot of him just trying to finally make some serious moves to go for it," he explained.
He added: "Through the season, it's kind of cool [because] you see him slowly gain a couple of wins. You see him do a couple of things that go... well."
He also confirmed that Tom will finally achieve his dream of investing in a nightclub.
"[Tom becomes] a minority investor in a tiny nightclub, but to him that's a huge deal," he said. "He treats it like [he is] Jay-Z owning the 40-40 Club."
However, Ansari suggested that the sarcastic government official is "not confident enough" to leave Pawnee and live out his fantasy life.
"He's trying to reach for a lifestyle that you'd probably have a lot better chance of getting in a place like New York or Los Angeles," he admitted. "But he stays in Pawnee [and] does what we he can."
