DirecTV is the latest network to pass on picking up troubled miniseries The Kennedys.

It was reported last week that DirecTV were considering taking up the historical drama, following the History Channel's decision not to air the series.

However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the company have now decided not to pursue their interest in The Kennedys, and have since ended discussions with the show's producers.

DirecTV's decision mirrors that of fellow networks Showtime, Starz and FX, who have all declined to pick up the drama series.

The show stars Katie Holmes and Greg Kinnear as presidential couple John and Jackie Kennedy, but has faced criticism from the press over its historical inaccuracies.

The Kennedys had been scheduled to begin its eight-episode run in March this year.
