The project landed at the network in September after a bidding war.
Deadline says that it has now received a presentation order.
The drama, which is based on a book by Kim Gatlin, has been described as "Desperate Housewives meets Dallas" and focuses on a recently-divorced mother who moves back to the neighbourhood where she grew up.
The script has been penned by Steel Magnolias writer Robert Harling.
