PAX scores high

Paxson Communications Corp. announced that PAX TV tied its highest rated week ever (May 28, 2001 - June 3, 2001), with a 1.1 HH Rating and attracted over 1.5 million viewers.
This represents a 22% increase vs. a year ago (May 29, 2000 -- June 4, 2000) and already exceeds PAX TV's 2000 summer season record delivery.
Primetime ratings are also up for the week across key demos versus a year ago: 32% among Adults 25 - 54 (620,000 v. 469,000), 26% among Adults 18 - 49 (506,000 v. 403,000), 30% among Women 25 - 54 (415,000 v. 319,000) and up 21% among Women 18 - 49 (329,000 v. 273,000).
Additionally, led by the strong debut of ``Weakest Link'' (1.2) on Friday, June 1 (8-9 p.m.) and the highest-rated episode of ``Encounters With The Unexplained'' (9-10 p.m.) since September, PAX delivered its highest Friday night ratings of the season.
This record-breaking Friday night posted a 1.2 HH Rating, reached over 1.7 million viewers and attained record highs among target demographics.
Key demographic highlights include:
- Friday night primetime (8-11 p.m.) achieved record highs among the following target demos: Adults 25 - 54 (785,000), Adults 18 - 49 (650,000), Women 25 - 54 (491,000) and Women 18 - 49 (406,000).
- The strong debut of ``Weakest Link'' on Friday delivered all-time highs across key demos, in the time period since PAX's network launch in August 1998: Adults 25 - 54 (958,000), Adults 18 - 49 (938,000), Women 25 - 54 (614,000) and Women 18 - 49 (611,000).
- ``Weakest Link'' outdelivered WB's ``Sabrina'' at 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. among Women 25 - 54 and outperformed among Adults 25 - 54 against the 8:00 p.m. telecast.
- Against all ad-support cable programming on Friday night, ``Weakest Link`` ranked No. 1 among Women 18 - 49 and earned the No. 2 spot across the following key demos: Women 25 - 54, Adults 18 - 49 and Adults 25 - 54.
