Deadline reports that the actor will appear in multiple episodes of the legal drama's fourth run, which will air exclusively on DirecTV's 101 network.
Chase is believed to be playing a potential love interest for Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne), though full details of his character have yet to be confirmed.
He previously starred in TNT drama Saving Grace from 2007 to 2010 and has also appeared in episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Castle and Criminal Minds.
Other stars confirmed for the new season of Damages include John Goodman and Vicky Cristina Barcelona actor Chris Messina.
The show is expected to return to DirecTV in July.
