Jay Paulson has signed up for a role in ABC drama pilot Identity.

The project, written by John Glenn and based on the ITV series, will focus on an elite police unit who target identity thieves.

Deadline reports that Happy Town actor Paulson will play a rookie agent who joins the squad.

The actor previously recurred on Mad Men and played a guest role in a recent episode of Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour. He will also appear in an upcoming instalment of ABC's Castle.

He will join the previously-cast Orlando Jones in the Identity pilot. Former Prison Break actor Wentworth Miller was also linked to the project, but has not been confirmed to star.
