TV Line reports that the instalment will see Howard's Law & Order: Los Angeles character Joe Dekker step out of his regular DA post to defend the son of a friend.
His courtroom battle will see him cross paths with returning ADA Casey Novak (Diane Neal).
NBC has yet to announce a return date for Law & Order: Los Angeles. Last month, the network confirmed that the show was to go on hiatus, following the departure of three main cast members as part of a series revamp.
Law & Order: SVU continues on Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC. Howard's crossover appearance is expected to air in May.
