It was previously announced that Lone Star actor James Wolk had been cast as Andrew Pierce, a charming but cynical presidential speechwriter.
Deadline now reports that Daisy Betts has signed up to play Samantha, an idealistic young woman who works for the president and shares a romantic history with Andrew.
The actress recently starred in short-lived NBC series Persons Unknown and also played Peta Lee in Australian soap opera Out of the Blue.
Gossip Girl star Katie Cassidy will further appear in the pilot as Nikki, a sharp-witted junior staffer in the White House Communications Office who has connections to the first lady.
Cassidy previously appeared in The CW's revamp of Melrose Place and also played the original version of Ruby on Supernatural.
The Georgetown pilot will be executive produced by Gossip Girl's Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
