Perry: 'Anders casting a coincidence'

Matthew Perry has insisted that the casting of Andrea Anders on Mr. Sunshine was a coincidence.

The actress, who plays Alice on the ABC sitcom, is currently dating Perry's former Friends co-star Matt LeBlanc.

"It's just kind of a small world thing," Perry explained on The View. "She just came in and she read better than everyone else."

He added: "She's beautiful, she's really funny, she knows her way around a joke, and she [just] happens to be with Matt LeBlanc."

Perry also joked that, as a writer on the series, he often engineers romantic situations between Alice and his character Ben.

"I do get to kiss her and I write the show," he said. "So, I get to do just about anything I want with her."

Mr. Sunshine continues on Wednesdays at 9.30/8.30c on ABC.
