The project will focus on a team of cops investigating magical crimes in the fictional town of Excelsior.

Callis recently appeared on Eureka as Dr. Trevor Grant and has also played roles on FlashForward and Numb3rs.
Mad Men actor Matt Long will also appear in the pilot as a rookie detective. He previously starred in WB drama Jack & Bobby and played the young Johnny Blaze in 2007 film Ghost Rider.
Other actors confirmed for the 17th Precinct pilot include Stockard Channing and Eamonn Walker.
