Jean Smart signs up for NBC comedy pilot

The as-yet-untitled comedy focuses on a young doctor called Adam who joins his family's medical practice.
Deadline reports that Smart will play Adam's mother, Dr. Barbara Foote. She is described as caring but interfering.
Smart currently has roles on $#*! My Dad Says and Hawaii Five-0. She has previously starred in shows including 24, Frasier and Samantha Who?.
The NBC project has been penned by Parks And Recreation scribe Dan Goor.
