The project, which is a remake of a British comedy starring Stephen Mangan and Sharon Head, focuses on the complicated relationship between two PR executives.
Deadline says that Azaria has now joined the cast as Alex, the male lead.
Azaria is probably best known for his voice work on The Simpsons but he has also made on-screen appearances in shows including Friends, Huff and Mad About You. He recently had a role in the movie Love And Other Drugs.
Free Agents is being produced by Kenton Allen, who worked on the British series, and Party Down co-creator John Enbom.
