Arielle Kebbel joins 'Hallelujah' pilot

The project, from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, will focus on a mysterious stranger named Rye who arrives in the small town of Hallelujah, Tennessee and restores the faith of the townsfolk.
Vampire Diaries actress Kebbel will play a character named Veda Roman, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actress has previously played recurring roles on Life Unexpected and Gilmore Girls. Her other television credits include appearances in True Blood, CSI: Miami and the pilot episode of Entourage.
Former Law & Order star Jesse L. Martin will play a mysterious drifter named Jared in the Hallelujah pilot, while Frances O'Connor will play Rye's wife Ruth.
Marc Cherry and Sabrina Wind will serve as executive producers, while Michael Apted will direct.
