The untitled comedy stars Sarah Paulson as Mary, a woman who helps people with their career problems but struggles with her own personal relationships.
Deadline says that Meadows has now signed up to play Mary's partner, who works as a psychotherapist. He is also said to provide balance to Mary's optimism.
Meadows recently starred in the college comedy Glory Daze, but the series was axed by TBS last month. He is probably best known for his work on Saturday Night Live, but also appeared in the movie Mean Girls.
The NBC project has been penned by Kari Lizer, who previously worked on The New Adventures of Old Christine and Will & Grace.
