CBS greenlights 'Laguna'-style docusoap

CBS has greenlit a new fly-on-the-wall series tracking the lives of women from an upper-middle-class suburb.
The show, Tuesday Night Book Club, reads like a real-life version of Desperate Housewives and marks the network's first foray into the docusoap format made popular by MTV with Laguna Beach.
Each episode sees the women gathering for their weekly Tuesday book club, Variety reports, but instead of focussing on literary debates, the show will examine their "day-to-day pressures of raising children and maintaining households, not to mention satisfying their husbands and concealing their indiscretions and infidelities".
Tuesday Night Book Club could be on air by the summer, possibly as a companion for returning reality series Big Brother.
Meanwhile, CBS has also greenlit Guess Who's Coming Over from Endemol USA, where people from different walks of life come together, and Joke's On You, a hidden camera show hosted by Whose Line's Wayne Brady where people play practical jokes on their friends and family.
