The former That '70s Show actor will play Detective Richard Vega, the partner of Detective Mark Britten (Jason Isaacs), according to TV Line.
REM is being billed as an "Inception-esque thriller" and will also star BD Wong and Laura Allen.
If picked up by NBC, a full series of REM will air in the fall.
