Talking to E News, the comedian confessed that she is ecstatic to be voicing a character on an upcoming episode of the Fox animated series.
"I adore The Simpsons. It's so clever and so funny on so many levels," she explained.
"So when they called and said, 'Do you want to do it?' without even reading a script I said, 'Absolutely'. Didn't read the script until yesterday."
She continued: "I've done animated voiceovers before. I'm an animation whore, but I've never had a large part like this."
Rivers described her character on the cartoon as "a stretch" and says that she is "nothing like [her]".
