Scott Porter joins 'Hart of Dixie' pilot

Scott Porter has been cast in Josh Schwartz's new series Hart of Dixie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor, who starred as the paralysed Jason Street on Friday Night Lights, will play a character named George Tucker, and joins Rachel Bilson, Jaime King, Wilson Bethel, Cress Williams and Nancy Travis in the CW pilot.

The comedy-drama will revolve around Zoe (Bilson), a young doctor who takes over a medical practice in a small Southern town.

Porter can currently be seen in The Good Wife as private investigator Blake Calamar.

The executive producer of the legal drama, Robert King, has previously stated that although he would have liked the actor to stay on as a series regular, he expected to lose him to pilot season.

Porter has also appeared in a number of films, including Speed Racer and Prom Night.
