TV Line now claims that Southland is likely to be renewed for a new ten-episode run. The third season, which concluded earlier this month, attracted an average audience of 2.9 million viewers.
The series was originally axed by NBC before its second season had aired, though was later picked up for ten more episodes by TNT.
Kevin Alejandro left the show earlier this year in order to concentrate on his new role in HBO's True Blood and his character Nate Moretta was killed off in a shock twist.
Southland star Tom Everett Scott also recently signed up for a role in an ABC comedy pilot.
