Alec Baldwin, Jon Cryer and Will Ferrell have been added to the lineup for the inaugural Comedy Awards.

Comedy Central announced plans for its first-ever multi-network, multi-platform awards ceremony honouring the world of comedy earlier this month.

Adam McKay, Garry Shandling, Samantha Bee, Jason Jones, Olivia Munn, John Oliver, John Hodgman and the Gregory Brothers will also be at next month's event as presenters and attendees.

Other previously announced stars scheduled to attend include Tina Fey, Bill Hader, Tracy Morgan, Jon Stewart, Andy Samberg and Kristen Wiig.

It has also been confirmed that Eddie Murphy will pick up the first-ever 'Comedy Icon' prize, to honour his "immeasurable impact" through work in film, television, stand-up and comedy sketch shows.

The Comedy Awards will air on Sunday, April 10 across MTV's network of channels.
