'Torchwood' scribe pens extraterrestrial drama

Variety reports that The Voyage will focus on man's first contact with aliens and is in contention for a pilot pick-up.
The potential series will focus on a female scientist who works at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and is determined to interact with extraterrestrial life.
Shiban's past credits include AMC's Breaking Bad and The CW's The Vampire Diaries. He has also worked on Supernatural and is contributing to the next series of Torchwood.
Other projects currently in development at the cable network include music industry drama The Man With the Golden Ears and The 4th Estate, which follows an investigative journalist in Washington DC.
