It was confirmed that the former View host will film the as-yet-unnamed series for Oprah Winfrey's cable network in the same studio that The Oprah Winfrey Show was recorded at Harpo Studios, Chicago.
Via her blog, O'Donnell posted a video to Harpo staff, sharing her enthusiasm at the news.
"I just want to say, 'Hi, I'm coming to Chicago.' I'm thrilled about it, and I get to work with all of you who have created magnificent television," the presenter said.
"It's a huge thrill for me, and I'm beyond the beyond."
She added that she can't wait to start making a "kick-ass show for The Oprah Winfrey Network".
O'Donnell has previously said that she is scared of getting on the wrong side of Winfrey.
