Pilot for 'Girlfriends' spinoff to air on UPN

The series is one of the many shows under consideration for next season on new network The CW.
In the episode, airing April 17 at 9pm, Melanie (Tia Mowry) follows her professional footballer boyfriend Derwin (Aldis Hodge) to San Diego instead of attending a top medical school.
Also appearing in the pilot are Girlfriends regulars Tracee Ellis Ross (Joan), Golden Brooks (Maya), Persia White (Lynn), Jill Marie Jones (Toni) and Reggie hayes (William Dent).
