The pair stumbled during their rumba on Monday night, with Chmerkovskiy later suggesting that it was because he suffered a muscle spasm on the dance floor.
He had told Brooke Burke following the performance that the misstep had been his fault, saying: "My thigh just gave out. Any dancer would know; it happens - muscle strains and all that. It's nothing to do with her. I just want to apologise."
Writing on her Twitter account today, actress Alley said: "Maks is too humble.. we all know it takes TWO to Tango..on our feet or on our asses...it takes TWO ..I will do better from now on...xoxo (sic)."
She also told followers that she felt "humbled" by the amount of supportive tweets that she had received, adding: "It's good to know that u are in this game with us come RAIN or come SHINE....thank u."
Chmerkovskiy also told Good Morning America earlier today that the injury he sustained would not stop him in the competition, and said that he felt "uncomfortable" that so much attention had been placed on the misstep rather than the performances of the celebrities.
Dancing with the Stars continues tonight on ABC.
