Oscar winner Aaron Sorkin and John Krasinski have teamed up for a mini-series about Hollywood's Chateau Marmont.

Sorkin is writing the project, which is based on the book Life At The Marmont. Krasinski, who is described as the "driving force behind the project", is also expected to star in the show, reports Deadline.

The series will follow the stories of the people who frequented the Hollywood landmark, which has hosted stars including Errol Flynn, John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Heath Ledger and Lindsay Lohan over the last 80 years.

John Belushi's death of an overdose in 1982 took place in one of Marmont's garden bungalows, and James Dean famously auditioned at the venue for Rebel Without A Cause.

"I don't think there is a better writer than Aaron Sorkin," said Krasinski. "The fact that he would do this project with me, is one of the highest compliments of my career.

"My dream is to have a whole slew of great actors - some very famous and some not famous at all, to make it an homage to Hollywood."

Aaron Sorkin is currently busy with HBO pilot More As This Story Develops, while Krasinski is shooting the eighth season of The Office.

The untitled Chateau Marmont project will be produced through Krasinski's Sunday Night Productions.
