The showrunner told TV Guide that he is "really, really happy" to see a comedy shot in the four-camera format recognised in the recent Emmy nominations.
"[The four-camera sitcom is] a great, all-American art form, one of the few art forms besides jazz that you can point to and say was truly invented in America," suggested Prady. "It's great to see a traditional comedy honoured in this group with some fantastic shows."
However, Prady insisted that he is "absolutely not" expecting The Big Bang Theory to emerge victorious at the Emmy ceremony on September 18.
"It's kind of a depressing mood to move from the joy of the nomination to then handicapping your odds of winning," he explained. "That's stealing anxiety from the jaws of happiness!"
The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons recently claimed that there is no rivalry between him and fellow Emmy nominee Johnny Galecki.
The 63rd Emmy Awards will take place in Los Angeles with Glee star Jane Lynch as host.
