Kevin Smith will reportedly film a pilot for a brand new talkshow.

The Kevin Smith Show will be "a daily 30-minute entertainment talkshow for syndication", according to an email printed by New York Magazine.

"The idea is a Regis and Kelly talkshow at the opposite end of the day for the opposite kind of audience - the 12-34 demo."

The Clerks director has asked fans on Twitter to attend the filming of the pilot episode. He is hoping to film the show every weekday evening, alongside filming for upcoming sports movie Hit Somebody with Alan Rickman and John Goodman.

"Kevin and his co-host will talk water-cooler topics at the top of the show, followed by a celebrity interview and a comedy segment from the field (a la The Daily Show). Each show will feature one celebrity interview," the email continued.

Smith is also developing a comic book store-based reality series for AMC. He is currently writing the comic book Bionic Man as well, alongside Phil Hester and Jonathan Lau.
