The Mo'Nique Show will air its remaining new episodes this summer, but new instalments won't be produced for the fall season.
A BET statement read: "The Mo'Nique Show will be on production hiatus beginning in the fall. However, new episodes of the show will continue to air throughout the summer. Mo'Nique Hicks and The Mo'Nique Show are important to the BET Network's family and we look forward to continuing our relationship with her."
Mo'Nique became the first African-American woman to host a late-night comedy series when the chatshow was launched in October 2009.
A rep for Mo'Nique has not yet commented on BET's decision to shelve the series.
Mo'Nique won a 'Best Supporting Actress' Academy Award in 2010 for her critically-acclaimed performance in Precious.
