George Lopez ended the final edition of Lopez Tonight by thanking his dedicated fans and his good friend Sandra Bullock.

Lopez Tonight was cancelled by TBS earlier this week after two years on the air. Lopez had served as the first-ever Hispanic American late-night show host.

The comic was joined by an all-star lineup of guests for Thursday night's series finale, including Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria.

Longoria teased Lopez about the chatshow's axing by sitting in the host's chair and saying: "I'm taking over the show! [TBS] didn't tell you that they fired you, but they hired me!"

Former late-night presenter Arsenio Hall and LA Lakers stars Derek Fisher and Ron Artest also joined the comedian for his final instalment.

Lopez closed the show by praising his loyal fans and singled out close friend Bullock, who helped launch his television career.

The Lopez Tonight host said: "Most importantly, I want to thank Sandra Bullock, who, 11 years ago, took a chance on me. Thank you."

Lopez and his guests then joined house band the Ese Vatos and surprise guest Slash to perform Kiss's classic 'Rock and Roll All Nite'.
