The network revealed that it had declined to renew the programme chronicling the challenges of raising eight children.
"TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8," a rep said in a statement. "By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone."
The statement continued: "TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future."
Kate Plus 8 was originally titled Jon & Kate Plus 8, but the show was renamed in 2009 in the wake of the Gosselins' separation.
Gosselin recently said that she looks forward to working in television for the foreseeable future, revealing that she is in talks to star in a new show entitled Twist of Kate.
In July, the mother of eight denied suggestions that she is "money-hungry" and desperate for fame, and insisted that she has earned all of her success and fortune via hard work and dedication.
The current and final season of Kate Plus 8 premiered on August 8, 2011.
