Sarah Jessica Parker was reported over the weekend to have agreed to produce a new Sex and the City show, with a source claiming that the actress was reluctant to do a third film after the lukewarm reception to Sex and the City 2.
However, a rep for Parker has denied the reports, telling Access Hollywood that the story is "completely false".
Plans for a Sex and the City prequel are said to be on hold for the moment. A number of young actresses, including Elizabeth Olsen, Blake Lively, Selena Gomez and Emma Roberts, had been linked to the project.
In May, Ryan Seacrest approached Parker about launching a fashion-based reality TV series together. The two recently worked on the film New Year's Eve.
The 46-year-old actress previously insisted that a third Sex and the City film could find box office success, saying that she is certain Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte have more stories to tell.
