The Community star confessed that he finds shows like Big Brother to be distasteful, accusing them of showing human beings at their worst.
"Shows like Big Brother drive me out of my mind. I can't stand them," McHale told New York Magazine. "That title is a moving target, as things in reality shows change all the time. But Big Brother should just be called Whispering and Conspiring."
McHale explained: "It shows human beings at their worst. Those shows where they just say, 'Let's take a bunch of damaged people, throw them into a house, and ply them with booze and see what happens'? That's where we're using our loser brains."
In the same interview, McHale revealed that he is in awe of Community co-star John Goodman, describing him as one of the best actors in the world.
In June, the actor, who also hosts the E! series The Soup, said that he adores Community, and insisted that he would watch the comedy show even if he wasn't on it.
Community will return to NBC on September 22.
