The actress has landed a recurring role as a nurse in The CW's new series, TV Line reports.
Hart of Dixie stars The O.C.'s Rachel Bilson as Zoe Hart, a doctor who moves from Manhattan to a small town in Alabama.
Davis has now joined the cast as Addy Pickett, an experienced nurse who works at Zoe's new practice. Addy, who is described as "warm and acerbic", ends up becoming a mentor to Zoe.
The character is being introduced to make up for the departure of Nancy Travis, who had a similar part in the pilot but will leave because she is attached to ABC's new comedy Last Man Standing.
Davis has previously guest starred in shows such as The Wire, Law & Order, Damages and Mercy.
Hart of Dixie, which also stars Scott Porter and Jaime King, will premiere on September 26 on The CW.
