Michael Chiklis and fellow cast members have all signed on for the final batch of thirteen episodes, due to air early in 2008.
The sixth season - currently in production for transmission next year - was expected to be the last.
FX president John Landgraf confirmed that the seventh really would mark the end, however. He told Variety: "I know what the arc is of the final season, almost through the last episode, and this is definitely the end of it."
