'Twilight' writer begins work on ABC drama

Twilight writer Melissa Rosenberg has started work on a new television project for ABC.

Rosenberg is developing an adaptation of the Dutch show Penoza, Deadline reports.

The project focuses on the widow of a criminal who has been murdered.

The character is forced to continue her husband's work to protect the other members of her family.

As well as writing the Twilight movies, Rosenberg has worked on television shows such as The O.C. and Dexter.

She is also currently developing another ABC project, comic book adaptation AKA Jessica Jones.

Other potential shows in the works at ABC include Kirstie Alley's comedy The Manzanis, a sitcom from the executive producer of Happy Endings and a project from Easy A director Will Gluck.
