UPN premieres to begin next week
UPN's line-up features one new and three returning comedy series; one new drama series, one returning drama series and two drama series new to UPN; and a movie franchise night of popular theatrical features; plus the continuation of year-round, all-new instalments of the World Wrestling Federation's blockbuster WWF Smackdown!

Thursday, August 16
UPN launches a new season of WWF Smackdown!, complete with an all-new set and graphic look, by presenting the series' first-ever LIVE episode (8pm - 10pm, ET/PT). A second live episode airs Thursday, August 23. Original two-hour episodes of WWF Smackdown! will premiere every Thursday night - 52 weeks a year - featuring the internationally popular, totally outrageous World Wrestling Federation superstars including The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Lita, Kurt Angle and The Undertaker - among many others - as they do battle in elaborate, long-running rivalries.
Monday, September 3
Based on popular comedian D.L. Hughley's real life experiences, UPN premieres its second season of The Hughleys (8pm -8.30pm, ET/PT). Darryl (Hughley) tries to adjust to life as an African-American husband and father living in a suburban Los Angeles neighborhood. The Hughleys also stars Elise Neal, John Henton, Ashley Monique Clark, Dee Jay Daniels, Eric Allen Kramer and Marietta DePrima.
UPN's newest comedy One On One (8.30 - 9pm, ET/PT) stars Flex Alexander as Flex Washington, a local sportscaster and ladies man, who takes on the challenge of raising his spirited 14-year-old daughter Breanna, played by Kyla Pratt, after her mother takes a job out of the country. One On One also stars Kelly Perine.
Monday, September 10
Entering its third season, The Parkers (9 - 9.30pm, ET/PT) features the raucous mother daughter team of Nikki and Kim Parker. Nikki (stand-up comedienne Mo'Nique) and Kim (Countess Vaughn) are pursuing their higher education at the same time and, while they attempt to establish independent identities, they still find themselves wearing matching outfits. The Parkers also stars Dorien Wilson, Jenna von Oy, Yvette Wilson and Ken L.
UPN's sophomore sensation Girlfriends (9.30 - 10pm, ET/PT) takes an authentic look at the lives of four funny and spirited African-American women and reminds us that life is always more fun when shared with girlfriends. Girlfriends stars Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White, Jill Marie Jones and Reggie Hayes.
Friday, September 21
UPN Movie Friday (8 - 10pm, ET/PT) delivers a slate of feature film titles each week ranging from high-octane action adventures and supernatural thrillers to teen comedies and urban dramas. For the 2001-02 season, the network's popular movie franchise will include a line-up of hit theatrical features including the UPN premieres of "Batman Forever," starring Val Kilmer, Jim Carrey and Nicole Kidman, "Outbreak," starring Dustin Hoffman and Rene Russo, and "Jason's Lyric," starring Jada Pinkett. UPN Movie Friday will premiere Friday, September 21 at 8pm ET/PT with "The Fifth Element," starring Bruce Willis and Gary Oldman.

Set midway through the 22nd century - 100 years before Capt. James T. Kirk helmed the famous starship - the next instalment of the long running "Star Trek" franchise Enterprise (8 - 10pm, ET/PT) debuts this fall with a special two-hour premiere. A prequel to the original "Star Trek" series, Enterprise explores the history of intergalactic upheaval that eventually leads to the formation of The Federation. Enterprise takes place during the early pioneering days of deep space exploration when interstellar travel is in its infancy. Led by Scott Bakula, Enterprise features an ensemble cast including Connor Trinneer, Jolene Blalock, Dominic Keating, Anthony Montgomery, Linda Park and John Billingsley. Enterprise will air in its regularly scheduled time period (8 - 9pm, ET/PT) beginning Wednesday, October 3.
Tuesday, October 2
Making its UPN debut with a special two-hour premiere, Buffy The Vampire Slayer (8 - 10pm, ET/PT) follows the double life of a young woman who attends college during the day and chases paranormal evil at night. Buffy The Vampire Slayer stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan, James Marsters, Emma Caulfield and Michelle Trachtenberg. Buffy The Vampire Slayer will air in its regularly scheduled time period (8 - 9pm, ET/PT) beginning Tuesday, October 9.
Wednesday, October 3
Following its successful mid-season debut last year, Special Unit 2 (9 - 10pm, ET/PT) enters its second season on UPN. Detectives Nick O'Malley (Michael Landes) and Kate Benson (Alexondra Lee) work in Special Unit 2, a secret precinct of the Chicago Police Department whose sole charge is to protect the city's unsuspecting citizens from Links, a malicious, paranormal species that is the missing link between man and beast. Special Unit 2 also stars Danny Woodburn and Richard Gant.
Tuesday, October 9
Landing at its new home on UPN, the cult favourite Roswell (9 - 10pm, ET/PT) is a distinctive combination of science fiction and heart-wrenching disconnection and angst as experienced by three young aliens and their friends as they struggle with adolescence and their otherworldly secret. Roswell features a young, talented cast including Shiri Appleby, Jason Behr, Katherine Heigl, Majandra Delfino, Brendan Fehr, Nick Wechsler and William Sadler.
