Alan Tudyk has opened up about his role in Suburgatory.

The former Firefly star revealed that his character Noah will grow and develop on the half-hour sitcom.

"A heightened reality," Tudyk told The Hollywood Reporter of the world of Suburgatory. "Noah is of that world. So, he has a more intense tan. He's a little more enthusiastic than most people and excited. I'm learning that role as we go.

"It's really exciting to see how big he can be and how subtle he can be. As an actor, you don't want to say, 'I'm going to be loud and big.' Because that looks awful, that looks fake. If he's feeling something he feels it in the extremes and expresses himself that way, too."

Suburgatory stars Jeremy Sisto and Jane Levy as a father and daughter who move to the suburbs.

In March, Tudyk landed a role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, playing Stephen A. Douglas in writer Seth Grahame-Smith's big-screen adaptation of his best-selling novel.

Earlier this year, the actor faced a charge of driving under the influence stemming from an arrest in January.
