The series stars Michael Ealy and Warren Kole as a pair of bickering detectives forced to attend couples counselling.
Originally planned to premiere on January 26, the show will now air in mid-2012, according to Deadline.
The series was reportedly shifted in the schedules after USA executives decided that it would fare better during the summer months.
Mad Men actress Nora Zehetner will play a rookie female detective on Common Law, while former Lost star Sonya Walger will appear as the therapist assigned to Travis (Ealy) and Wes (Kole).
The Fighter's Jack McGee will also star as Travis and Wes's "no-nonsense" police captain.
The first season of Common Law is currently shooting in New Orleans.
