On last weekend's edition of SNL, Jason Sudeikis and Taran Killam spoofed media coverage over the role Tebow's devout Christian faith might have played in his Denver Broncos recent win streak.
An SNL insider has since claimed that the show's producers are actually interested in Tebow hosting an episode once the NFL season wraps up early next year.
"SNL realises it would be huge ratings and they are hoping he will say yes. Tim just can't [right now] and won't be able to do it while the season is still in play," the source told Hollywood Life.

If Tebow does eventually host Saturday Night Live, he will follow in the footsteps of fellow NFL greats Joe Montana, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
NBA star Charles Barkley will host the January 7 episode of SNL alongside musical guest Kelly Clarkson, while Daniel Radcliffe and Lana Del Rey appear on January 14.
Saturday Night Live airs at 11.30/10.30c on NBC.
