The first trailer for Game Change has been unveiled by HBO Films.
The movie - based on the 2010 book by political journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin - stars Ed Harris as Republican presidential candidate John McCain and Julianne Moore as his running mate, vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
Woody Harrelson also features prominently in the 50-second taster, playing McCain's campaign manager Steve Schmidt.
The supporting cast includes Ally McBeal and Grey's Anatomy star Peter MacNicol as Republican national campaign manager Rick Davis, Ron Livingston (Band of Brothers, Sex and the City) as campaign advisor Mark Wallace and former Lost actress Melissa Farman as Bristol Palin, Sarah Palin's oldest daughter.
Moore said that she found it especially challenging to portray the "idiosyncratic" Palin as the politician is still prominent in public life, saying that she struggled most with Palin's distinctive accent and manner of speech.
Game Change is directed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers, Dinner for Schmucks) and will debut in March 2012 on HBO.
