Downton Abbey earned the award for 'Best Mini-Series Or Motion Picture Made for Television', beating out fellow nominees Cinema Verite, Mildred Pierce, The Hour and Too Big To Fail for the honour.

Modern Family was named 'Best Television Series - Comedy Or Musical', prompting star Sofia Vergara to give part of the cast and crew's acceptance speech in Spanish.
Laura Dern and Matt LeBlanc were surprise victors in the 'Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Comedy Or Musical' and 'Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Comedy Or Musical' respectively.
Idris Elba was recognised for his role in Luther, earning the prize for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television'.
