The final episode of the NBC comedy-drama airs this Friday (January 27).
"This is an episode that's not only a finale for season five, but also five seasons of television," Fedak told TV Guide. "[It's] very much haunted by seasons past."
Fedak also confessed that the instalment - titled 'Chuck Versus the Goodbye' - had gone a "little over budget".
"It's a long episode," he explained. "It's a big episode and we go to a lot of different places. We blew up most of the Universal backlot a few days ago with helicopters and stuff like that."
Fedak's fellow showrunner Josh Schwartz previously hinted that the finale could prove emotional for Chuck fans.
"I predict very few dry eyes," he said in November. "Mine did [well up]. It was really emotional."
Series star Zachary Levi has also assured long-time viewers that they will "get a real kick out of [the episode]".
"There are nods to the pilot and the first few episodes of the first season," he revealed. "We come full circle on the characters and the relationships."
The two-part Chuck finale airs Friday at 8/7c on NBC.
