Taylor Kitsch has admitted that he would be reluctant to play Friday Night Lights's Tim Riggins again because he liked the way the character's story ended on TV.

Taking part in a Digital Spy Twitter Q&A, the Canadian actor said that he doesn't want to risk spoiling the high school football star by bringing him back unnecessarily.

"I love the way we ended Riggs, so I think it would be an injustice to breathe life into him again," Kitsch said. "I love the way it ended and I'd rather leave it on that note. God knows I loved playing the guy, I'd rather leave it that way."

Friday Night Lights creator Peter Berg has written a new script to revive the drama on the big screen, but the story is said to focus on the lives of football coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) and his wife Tami (Connie Britton).

Kitsch, who is appearing in upcoming movies John Carter, Battleship and Savages, said that he would return to the small screen "if the character was right".

"There's a lot of great cable shows out there with character-driven stories, so you never rule it out," he said.
