Star Jones will return to The View for the first time since leaving the series in 2006.

Jones will be interviewed about her involvement with the American Heart Association's 'Go Red for Women' campaign on the February 22 edition of the ABC daytime show.

Jones underwent cardiac surgery in 2010 to repair damage from a thoracic tumor she'd suffered years earlier.

The lawyer was a panelist on The View for nearly a decade, but acrimoniously left the series when ABC chose not to renew her contract six years ago.

Jones surprised View host Barbara Walters by announcing her departure on the air in June 2006. The move proved controversial and Jones was not allowed to finish out the rest of her contract as a View panelist.

Last year, Jones admitted that he missed The View's daily discussions of hot-button issues as well as her friendships with Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

She currently serves as a legal correspondent for NBC's Today.
