Two Simpsons fans have broken the Guinness World Record for continuous television viewing at a Fox Marathon Challenge.

Californians Jeremiah Franco and Carin Shreve were the last fans standing in the Simpsons Ultimate Fan Marathon, which was held at Hollywood & Highland at the weekend.

The event celebrated The Simpsons' 500th episode 'At Long Last Leave', which will air on Sunday, February 18 on Fox.

Franco and Shreve watched over 86 hours and 37 minutes of Simpsons episodes, breaking the previous record for 86 hours, 6 minutes and 41 seconds.

The winners each took home exclusive Simpsons 500th episode merchandise and a $10,500 grand prize.
