Eamonn Holmes to host US game show
Published Wednesday, Sep 6 2006, 14:43 BST | By James Welsh
Eamonn Holmes will present a six episode run of The Rich List, a new game show, on the Fox TV network in America.
The format throws total strangers together into teams that have to work together to fill in missing answers on themed lists of questions. For example, one list could be on movies directed by Steven Spielberg and another on hit songs by ABBA. Contestants then bid up against each other, predicting how many answers on a particular subject they'll be able to list. When a team fails to list as many answers as they predicted, they lose.
"This is a truly original concept, unlike anything else currently on air, which promises to be exciting and addictive viewing," said Mike Darnell, executive vice president of special programming at Fox. "Fox is thrilled to bring this dynamic format to the American audience for the first time."
Production on the short run has already started, with Fox planning to air the show during the new season.
