John McCain: 'I will never watch Sarah Palin HBO movie Game Change'

By
Republican Senator John McCain has insisted that he will not watch the new HBO political drama Game Change.

Game Change is based on a book by political journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, which documented McCain's 2008 presidential election campaign.

McCain is played by Ed Harris in the film, while Tiffany Thornton stars as the senator's daughter Meghan McCain and Julianne Moore portrays Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Palin has strongly condemned Game Change by urging her supporters not to "waste their time" by watching it.

McCain echoed Palin's sentiments during a campaign rally for Mitt Romney over the weekend.

The Arizona senator told those in attendance at the rally: "This new movie that comes out, [people] ask me if I'm gonna watch it.

"I tell them it'll be a cold day in Gila Bend, Arizona."

Several of Palin's former campaign staffers have also slammed Game Change as "sick" and inaccurate.

Danny Strong – who wrote the Game Change screenplay – previously defended the television movie by insisting that it has no political motive.

Game Change premieres on HBO on March 10. It will air on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
