Reality show Survivor's ratings rallied last night (Wednesday), following an all-time franchise low last week, according to Nielsen overnight data.

One World's third episode averaged 10.6m (2.9) for CBS at 8pm, up 300k and one demo point.

American Idol, meanwhile, led Fox to another primetime victory with 17m (4.9) as the Top 12 girls performed between 8pm and 10pm.

Both The Middle (8.5m/2.6) and Suburgatory (7.2m/2.4) recovered from season lows for ABC in the 8pm hour, then Modern Family amused 11.7m (4.8), and 11.7m (4.8).

Returning to the 10pm slot, Revenge gave the Alphabet Network an audience of 7.4m (2.4), losing out to CBS's ever-dependable CSI (11.2m/2.6).

Criminal Minds pulled in 12.5m (3.1) for the Tiffany Network at 9pm, while Rock Centre climbed to 2.9m (0.7) for NBC.

However, the Peacock Network was blighted by stagnant performances from Whitney (4.1m/1.5), Are You There, Chelsea? (3.5m/1.3) and Law & Order: SVU (5.4m/1.6).

The 18th cycle of America's Next Top Model started slowly with 1.3m (0.6) for The CW at 9pm, prior to which One Tree Hill held 1.6m (0.7).
